New NIGC CEO Appointed


Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh appointed Hassan Montazer Torbati as the new CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) on Sunday.

Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh appointed Hassan Montazer Torbati as the new CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) on Sunday.

Earlier last week, Mr. Araghi, NIGC former CEO on Wednesday (14 Nov.) issued a mandate based on which Mr. Torbati was granted the post as NIGC first deputy CEO and vice-chairman of its board of directors.

Hassan Montazer Torbati previously held the head of coordination and production monitoring, Transmission and distribution of gas, Head of Operations Management Refinery Engineering Services, Engineer of refining Shahid Hasheminejad company, Dispatching Manager of NIGC, National Gas Company Planning Director, Managing Director of Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company and finally Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Iranian Gas Company.

He holds a Master"s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Amir Kabir University of Technology (Polytechnic) and a bachelor of chemistry from the Oil Industry University (Abadan Oil Department).

Montazer Torbati has replaced Hamidreza Araghi as NIGC CEO who stepped down from his post because of retirement.
