Iran will increase its natural gas exports to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, to 14 million cubic meters per day since June, one year after starting gas exports to the Iraqi city, director of international affairs of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said.
Behzad Babazadeh told that Iran began gas exports to Baghdad in June 2017 and the figure is to increase to 14 MMcm/d in the second year based on a deal reached by the two countries, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
“Based on the deal with Iraq, gas exports to Baghdad was projected to be 6 MMcm/d in the first year, 14 MMcm/d in the second year, and 30-35 MMcm/d in the third year” he added.
