Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri said Yerevan has signaled keenness to buy more gas from Iran, adding the two countries have started talks on increasing Iran’s gas exports to Armenia.
The two neighboring countries, Iran and Armenia, have long and old relations with cultural commonalities and joint civilizations, and these relations are stable and sustainable, Jahangiri said at a joint press conference with Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on Monday, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
He said the Islamic Republic of Iran has good relations with its neighbors, adding that there are no limitations for political, economic and cultural cooperation with Armenia.
He reminded that the visit of Armenian Prime Minister to Tehran at the current time can help develop relations and promote cooperation between the two countries in economic affairs.
Addressing the objectives of their meeting, Jahangiri said the two sides emphasized the need for removing obstacles on economic relations.
Jahangiri also said various fields of gas, electricity, agriculture, converting industries, technical and engineering services, as well as transportation, can be among the areas of cooperation between the two countries.
