Iran’s natural gas export to the city of Basra in southern Iraq can take place in March, the managing director of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said.
“Iraqi city of Basra has expressed readiness to import natural gas from Iran in two months … Shalamcheh border in the southwestern province of Khuzestan has been chosen as the gateway for gas export to Basra," Hamidreza Araqi said, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
According to the contract agreement, Iran will initially export 7 million cubic meters of gas to neighboring Iraq and will reach 35 MMcm/d gradually.
